Joe Love

Joe love is a New York City based dancer, actor, and singer that graduated with a BFA in musical theatre From rider university. After moving to Brooklyn, NY Joe found himself drawn back to the theater where he is a freelance carpenter, stagehand, and electrician. He is always looking for different ways he can be a part of telling the story, no matter the role he plays.

 

Joe grew up in the small town of Eldersburg, Maryland and originally discovered his passion for dance after his mom dragged him to his older sister’s dance studio when he was just a baby. He Started taking classes shortly after that. After competing all over the country, Joe was amazed at the wide variety of dance that there is to offer the world. It was soon after that he found his love for musical theater when he auditioned for a community theater’s production of guys and dolls.

After taking a short break from theater and dance to attempt to play sports, joe Love followed his heart back to the stage by his junior year in high school. while in high school, he was able to study all aspects of theater, whether that was backstage, design, direction, choreography, management, or performance; Joe found a love for all aspects of story telling.

When not working on a show, Joe Love is researching, brainstorming and thinking up a new style of theatrical stage direction that focuses on using Aspect ratio, The Fibonacci Sequence and the golden ratio to bring a more math magical approach to telling a story on stage. As a White board loving, self-proclaimed nerd Joe lOve is always thinking up radical thinks hoping to push the boundaries of how art is expressed and stories get told.

In addition to theater and dance, Joe Love is striving towards effective education of the arts. Whether he is watching a Ted talk or reading a textbook to dive further into performance pedagogy, Joe love is constantly trying to find effective ways to teach artists of all ages and backgrounds to tell their story through what ever artistic outlet they want, Joe has found excitement and joy through helping those around him fine tune their craft. while at Rider University, Joe Love was able to assist his professors in other students’ education through student leadership positions as assistant director and dance captain, and through tutoring acting and dance classes.

When Joe Love is not in a dance studio, practice room, or theater, he loves watching new rom-coms, giving lectures to his friends (using his super awesome white board), finding new places to adventure and hike, playing soccer and basketball, or he is in the wood shop testing out a new Pinterest DIY project. Joe has always strived to stay busy and meet as many new people as he can from which he can learn from.
